CHIP-LEVEL REPAIR · HYDERABAD

Chip-Level Repair for Apple Devices in Hyderabad.

Some Apple-device faults are caused at board level rather than by a simple replaceable part. iServices Centre diagnoses these faults in-house and performs chip-level repair where that applies.

Free diagnosis first: board-level work is proposed only after the fault has been identified.

What is chip-level repair?

Chip-level repair — also called board-level or component-level repair — means diagnosing and repairing a fault on the device’s main circuit board, rather than replacing the whole board because the device has stopped working. The failed area is identified first, and the fault is repaired at component level where that is viable.

  • Board-level fault confirmed by diagnosis, never assumed
  • Repaired at component level in-house where it is viable
  • Where repair is not viable, the alternatives are explained
QUICK ANSWERS

Direct answers

Is diagnosis free?
Yes. iServices Centre provides a free diagnosis before recommending a repair.
Can every board fault be repaired?
No. Diagnosis establishes whether a board-level fault is repairable at all, and where it is not, the options are explained.
Is chip-level repair cheaper than replacing a board?
Not always. It depends on the fault and on the device, which is why both routes are explained before anything is agreed.
Is board-level work sent away?
No. Board-level diagnosis and chip-level work are carried out in-house by our own technicians.
SYMPTOMS

When chip-level repair may be relevant.

Start with what the device is doing. The cause is established during diagnosis, not from the symptom alone.

Device will not power onNo sign of life at all. Diagnosis establishes whether the fault sits in the board rather than in a replaceable part.
Charging-related board faultCharging fails even though the port and the battery check out.
Liquid reaching the boardLiquid exposure can leave corrosion on the board. Some cases can be treated at component level; some cannot.
Display-related board faultNo image or no backlight, where the display itself turns out to be sound.
Connectivity and functional faultsA function stops behaving and the replaceable part is not the cause.
THE REPAIR DECISION

Why replace the whole board if the fault is smaller?

A board is a large assembly, and a board replacement swaps all of it to correct one failed part of it. Chip-level repair looks at the smaller fault first — but only where diagnosis shows that the fault is localised and can be repaired.

Neither route is automatically the better one. Board-level repair is not always cheaper and it is not always possible; a board replacement is the correct answer in some cases. What it is, is more precise where the fault is small — and diagnosis is the only thing that decides which route applies.

  • Symptom — what the device is actually doing
  • Diagnosis — the device is inspected and tested
  • Board-level fault — identified, not inferred from the symptom
  • Viability — whether that fault can be repaired at component level
  • Options — board-level repair, or the alternatives, explained with the price
  • Approval — nothing is attempted until you agree to it
  • Repair — carried out in-house where that route is viable
  • Testing — the device is tested before it is handed back

Some board faults are not repairable. Where that is what the diagnosis shows, we say so rather than attempting work that will not bring the device back. The categories above show where board-level faults can sit — they are not a list of what can be fixed.

AT THE BENCH

How board-level work is done here.

Board-level diagnosis means working backwards from the symptom to the point on the board that has actually failed, then deciding whether that point can be repaired. It is slower and more deliberate work than swapping an assembly, and it happens in-house.

Component-level work on boards is carried out under magnification at our own bench. Nothing is sent out, which means the explanation you get is from the technician who did the work.

  • Board-level diagnosis before any board is replaced
  • Component-level work carried out at our own bench
  • Free diagnosis before anything is agreed
  • Where a part replacement is the correct route instead, premium aftermarket parts are used

Board-level work is quoted per device after diagnosis. No figure applies to it in advance, and none is published here.

WHAT WE CANNOT DO

Where chip-level repair is not the answer.

Not every board fault can be repaired. Some faults damage the board itself beyond repair, some need parts that cannot be sourced, and some are not worth pursuing. When that is the case, we say it at diagnosis rather than after the device has been opened up.

It is also the wrong route for faults that are not board-level at all. A failed battery, a damaged charging port or a cracked display is a part replacement, and board-level work would not be the correct repair for it.

  • Where repair is not viable, that is stated at diagnosis
  • Where the fault is not board-level, the correct repair is a part replacement
  • Where a board cannot be repaired, the alternatives are explained

Board-level repair is one route among several. Diagnosis is what decides which one applies to your device.

THE WORK

Board-level work, explained before it is attempted.

The board is the part every other component connects to. When a fault sits there, replacing the board is one route and repairing the specific fault is another — which of them applies is a diagnosis question rather than a preference.

Diagnosis is free, the options are explained with the price, and the repair happens in-house. Where the honest answer is that a board cannot be repaired, that is what you will be told.

  • Free diagnosis before any board-level work is proposed
  • Board-level faults confirmed rather than inferred
  • Component-level repair carried out in-house
  • Device tested before handover
DIAGNOSIS FIRST

How the repair runs

Every repair follows the same order: establish the fault, explain the options, do the work only once it is approved.

01

Describe the symptom

Tell us what the device does — no power, no image, no charging, or behaving intermittently.

02

Free diagnosis

The device is inspected and tested at no charge, before any repair is recommended.

03

Identify the fault

The fault is separated into component, port, battery or board-related causes rather than assumed from the symptom.

04

Establish whether board-level repair is viable

Not every board fault can be repaired. This step decides whether this one can be.

05

Explain the repair option

Board-level repair, and the alternatives where it does not apply, are explained with the price.

06

Perform the repair in-house

Component-level work is carried out at our own bench by our technicians.

07

Test the device

The device is tested before handover, and what was found and what was done are explained.

05 / WHY IT MATTERS

Why proper diagnosis
comes first.

A repair decided from the symptom alone replaces parts that were never at fault. Diagnosis is what makes the recommendation worth taking.

01

Free diagnosis

We inspect the device and explain the fault before any repair is discussed.

02

Chip-level repair

Board faults are investigated at component level where a full replacement is not the only option.

03

Transparent recommendations

If a repair is not worth doing, we tell you instead of selling one.

THE WORK / EVIDENCE

Repairs we have actually done

Chip-level repair records are published from our own bench as jobs are completed. Nothing here is a modelled or invented case.

Questions people actually ask

01What is chip-level repair?+

Chip-level repair means diagnosing and repairing a fault on the device’s main circuit board instead of replacing the whole board. The failed area of the board is identified first, then repaired at component level where that is viable.

02Can an iPhone motherboard be repaired instead of replaced?+

In some cases, yes. Whether your fault is one of them is established by diagnosis — board-level faults are identified before a board replacement is even discussed.

03Can a MacBook logic board be repaired?+

In some cases, yes. MacBook logic-board faults are investigated at component level in-house, and where repair is not viable the alternatives are explained.

04What problems can require chip-level repair?+

A device that will not power on, charging faults that are not the port or battery, board damage after liquid, some display faults that are not the display itself, and certain connectivity or functional faults.

05Is chip-level repair always possible?+

No. Some board faults cannot be repaired — the board may be too damaged, or the part needed may not be available. That is established by diagnosis and stated plainly.

06Is chip-level repair better than motherboard replacement?+

Not always. It is more precise where the fault is small, and a board replacement is the right route in other cases. Diagnosis decides, and both options are explained.

07Do you diagnose the device before recommending board repair?+

Yes. The device is diagnosed free of charge first, and the fault is confirmed rather than inferred from the symptom before any board-level work is proposed.

08Do you offer chip-level repair in Hyderabad?+

Yes. It is carried out in-house at iServices Centre, with a free diagnosis at our Begumpet or Kompally workshop in Hyderabad.
